Do you want to understand your teenager better?

Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,

Over the past few years, all students in the province have had the opportunity to complete the OurSchool survey (formerly known as the Tell Them From Me survey).  This student feedback helps schools determine areas of concentration.  We are seeing a consistent, above average reporting of anxiety and depression among our students.

Our School Community Council had decided to help our Vanier families understand some of the contributing factors to anxiety and depression by hosting a three night series focusing on the developing adolescent brain.

In cooperation with community members, presentation and discussions will focus on the adolescent brain and how drugs, alcohol, technology, anxiety and depression affect its development.

The presentations are free of charge and are for parents/guardians of present and future Vanier students.  They will take place in our Library on:

Thursday, February 16 (7:00-8:30)
Thursday, March 16 (7:00-8:30)
Thursday, April 27 (7:00-8:30)

Please visit our website for more information.  As well, please feel free to “Like” and/or “Share” the event from our Vanier Facebook page.

We hope to see you there!

Brad Moser, Kelvin Turberfield and the Vanier SCC
