  • Altos rehearse at noon today. Chamber Choir rehearses after school. Full band and sopranos rehearse Thursday.
  • Do you have the best free throw at Vanier? Come out and prove it today & March 22 at lunch in the gym in support of the Best Buddies Hooping It Up free-throw competition. All it takes is $2 for 60 seconds to shoot as many free-throws as you can. There will be prizes for Top Male, Top Female, Top Buddy, and Top Teacher shooters and those winners will be eligible to win one of three $500 National Grand Prizes!! All funds raised will go directly to supporting the Best Buddies program. Come out and support your classmates in this fantastic event! See Riley F or Jenna M for more details
  • There will be a meeting today at lunch in room 208 for anyone interested in helping with the Grade 8 Open House.
  • First Valhalla meeting on Thursday, March 21 at noon in the Library.
  • Thurs. March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day.  Wear some crazy socks to show your support.
  • For all students interested in playing in the MJ Ballers Basketball club, please drop off forms to Mr. Tardif ASAP.
  • Vanier Collegiate is hosting a leadership conference on Tuesday, April 9. This is a great opportunity for students to hear some excellent motivational speakers and participate in fun activities throughout the day. If you are interested, please see Mrs. Meili for a registration form.
  • The Youth Ambassadors Program with Canada is a fully-funded, 3-week exchange program to the United States, including stays in upstate New York and Washington, D.C. The goal is for students (age 15-18) to learn leadership skills and then return home and implement a community service project. We also select two adult mentors to help guide the youth throughout the program.  Deadline: April 1
  • 2018-19 Vanier Yearbooks can now be purchased online!  Visit the Friesens’ website to make your purchase.
  • WorkSafe Saskatchewan invites Grade 9-12 students to create a 2 minute video with a “Focus on Safety” theme. First prize is $1000. All entries must be received by
    March 28 at 4:00 pm. Please make sure to read the rules and regulations for this contest.

  • Grade 11 Students:

    • Great resource for career education!
    • Along with the YWRCC you will want to look into the Career Safety Education (CSE). This is a fantastic opportunity if you are currently on your way to building your resume and wanting to look like a star candidate for your future employers. Now you can receive safety training for FREE! Whether this training is to help you keep first-day awkwardness at bay or further develop your career, you are in the right place. Safety training looks great on resumes and post-secondary applications, as well as scholarship applications! The CES Program is available to all students.
